Therefore, if you are not a member of WMDA, you will not be able to create a profile in the members area.

Membership Board

The Membership Board serves as the WMDA advising body, guiding WMDA’s strategic direction and ensuring alignment with its mission to enhance the global exchange of hematopoietic stem cells. Comprising diverse experts from member organisations worldwide, the Membership Board oversees WMDA’s initiatives, evaluates emerging opportunities, and ensures the organisation’s principles of impartiality, confidentiality, and diversity are upheld. Membership Board members bring expertise in operations, regulations, and donor registries, fostering collaboration to address global challenges. They meet regularly to discuss priorities and ensure effective leadership in achieving WMDA’s goals.

Impartiality Committee

Impartiality is a core value of the WMDA and its Certification Body. The WMDA Membership Board and all personnel involved in WMDA projects and in WMDA’s certification process are committed to maintaining impartiality. On an ongoing basis, the WMDA Membership Board identifies and evaluates threats to impartiality and implements safeguarding measures to mitigate any identified risk. This mechanism is overseen by the WMDA Impartiality Committee. It ensures the proper management and safeguarding of impartiality, confidentiality, and diversity within the organisation. It monitors these values to maintain fairness, trust, and inclusivity across WMDA’s operations and decision-making processes.

Regulatory Affairs Committee

The Regulatory Affairs Committee works together with regulators to advocate for WMDA’s principles and addresses challenges and opportunities in established and evolving global regulatory environments. It’s aims:

To serve the membership by providing information regarding regulations, standards and guidance documents and presenting the regulatory concerns of the membership back to the regulatory agencies;
To provide direction and leadership to WMDA educational initiatives;
To provide tactical guidance for engagement with regulatory agencies;
To facilitate cooperation between health authorities between different countries.

This work ensures that WMDA remains a strong voice in evolving regulatory landscapes while supporting its members effectively.

Nominations at WMDA

Nominations play a crucial role in WMDA’s governance, ensuring a diverse and qualified representation across its committees and the Membership Board. The nomination process is designed to uphold transparency, inclusivity, and fairness, inviting active participation from the global membership. By contributing to this process, members help shape WMDA’s strategic direction and strengthen its mission of advancing stem cell donor registries and cord blood banks worldwide.
