Governance: Global Development

The pillar Global Development supports members to develop and grow, so that more transplant patients find the most suitable match. The leadership of the pillar Global Development is composed of the chair and chair-elect of the following working groups:

  • The Working Group Cord Blood supports, promotes and enhances the safety, efficacy and availability of cord blood units, and aims to harmonize the global practice of cord blood banking and supply.
  • The Working Group Registries strives to provide global education on donor registry operation.
  • The Working Group Quality and Regulation strives to promote harmony between worldwide stem cell donor registries and cord blood banks, encourage uniformity of best practice based on the WMDA Standards and provide WMDA members with accurate, up-to-date and usable guidance on the worldwide regulatory landscape.
